UC Berkeley Zodiac: Which Campus Building Describes You?

Have you been wondering what part of campus best represents you? Our campus is so vast that it can be difficult to ever truly make a solid connection. Well look no further, my fellow astrology enthusiasts, for I have compiled a list of buildings that share your zodiac identity!

Aries — California Hall

 

Aries take charge in every day situations — they are independent leaders. Aries are strong willed and firm in their decisions — they stick with their gut. Their ambitious nature takes them far in life, to places like Berkeley! California Hall contains the offices of our university administration, which, like Aries, has control over nearly everything. Aries can be inflexible at times, and may need some pushing and prodding to change their views — similar to the students who locked administrators in California Hall during the Free Speech Movement.

Taurus — Evans Hall

 

A Taurus is known to be very persistent and stand its ground, but at times this can border outright stubbornness, as a Taurus may very well hold out until the bitter end. Evans Hall embodies a Taurus — no matter how much haterade people are sipping and shade being thrown, it’s still around. (Hopefully Miley comes around with her Wrecking Ball to tear it down ASAP.)

Gemini — Pimentel Hall

 

Geminis are very flexible and easily adapt to any situation. Their chameleon nature allows them to easily navigate the social world, and with that they can quickly make multiple connections. Yet at the same time, they can be impulsive and hard to predict. Thus they are Pimentel, the famous rotating building, which allows teachers to change the stage and set up their classes. (Sadly only the stage/chalkboards rotate, and not the whole building.)

Cancer — Stern Hall

 

Cancers love domestic settings and often seek these places for their much-needed alone time. Cancers are the sign of contradiction: They sometimes show their emotions but, due to their conservative nature, can instantly retreat back into their shell. Stern hall embodies the homely desire and conservative aspects of a Cancer. This housing complex is significantly far from the rest of the dorms and provides its residents with a secluded environment. Also the building houses females only, so the chances of floorcest are much lower. Lots of potential “me time,” if you catch my drift.

Leo — RSF

Leos ooze confidence and power. They are natural born leaders and motivators, but sometimes their self-assuredness can be misconstrued as pretentiousness. No wonder they are the RSF: A gym full of hot, powerful people who can also be perceived as cocky by those who are jealous of their fit bodies.

Virgo — Bechtel Engineering Library

 

 

Virgos possess very keen minds and an analytic personality. They work very well with others, and are constantly obsessing over how to improve themselves and the current situation. Bechtel Library is a space for people to crack down on their work but also allows for a quiet chatting environment conducive to productive group work. It’s a perfect spot for a Virgo with upcoming midterms.

Libra — Boalt Hall

 

Libras are all about equality, balance, and justice. They are very diplomatic and know how to handle delicate situations, but sometimes their excessive drive causes them to go to extreme measures to achieve their goals. Libras are Boalt Hall, Berkeley’s School of Law: an institution for those who want to serve justice, work like no other, and acquire lots of money bags.

Scorpio — Dwinelle Hall

 

Scorpio’s bold personalities can be easily misinterpreted, and their moody nature makes them very hard to pin down. They have a mysterious, secretive persona, and can be withdrawn for a moment then confrontational the next. Scorpio’s confusing nature symbolizes Dwinelle Hall — easily the most perplexing building on campus (especially for a freshman). Weird room numbering and odd hallway intersections lead students through a maze that makes full use of our blessed Berkeley Time.

Sagittarius — Moses Hall

 

Philosophers at heart, Sagittarius are focused and optimistic. Their genuine curiosity leads to exploration of the world around them; they have a need to find answers and discover as much as they can. Moses Hall appeals to the exploring nature of Sagittarius. It contains classes for Philosophy and International Studies and is known as a building for the inquisitive minded.

Capricorn- Cesar Chavez Center

Capricorns are highly intuitive and intelligent individuals, with a drive to help others. They oftentimes put others’ problems before their own and will make some of the most loyal friends. The Cesar Chavez Center must be full of Capricorns, because it houses the Student Learning Center, a tutoring establishment created to help students in need of additional instruction. The SLC tutors will definitely make an effort to solve the problems of any Golden Bear.

Aquarius — Berkeley Art Museum

 

An Aquarius is known to go their own way and accomplish goals through unconventional means. Their independent lifestyle is attributed to their creative and insightful minds that carry them through unique life paths. The Aquarius’s nonconforming attitude parallels the originality of the Berkeley Art Museum. Full of artistic expression, this museum presents galleries of creativity and pizzazz, elements reminiscent of the Aquarius essence.

Pisces — Doe Memorial Library

Pisces are very imaginative and knowledgeable. They are also extremely prone to escapist habits that can sometimes lead to laziness. A Pisces would definitely frequent Doe, the best library for escapist daydreaming and armchair lounging. The intricate architecture and window views create an atmosphere conducive to a Pisces wandering mind.
