Excited for the holidays? So are we. Now, if only we could make it though the next three weeks of finals, we would all be in the clear. Nonetheless, there’s nothing like some extra procrastination to keep dead week fun. There are a ton of holiday events in San Francisco this month, with festive distraction only a Bart ride away. Feel free to take your pick to help you kick start your studying!

1. San Francisco Ballet Nutcracker

From December 11-29 you can experience the San Francisco Ballet performance of the Nutcracker, a holiday classic. Prices start at only $25, so why not take a trip up to the City to experience the show? Tickets are on sale at http://www.sfballet.org.

2. Noe Valley Holiday Wine Walk

The Noe Valley Holiday Wine Walk takes place this Thursday, December 5th from 4pm to 8pm. The event features a plethora of wine suppliers and holiday treats, so save room to sample as much of the goodies as possible. Visit www.sresproductions.com for more information.

3. Ice Skating in Union Square

This holiday ice rink is one of the most celebrated events of the season. It features ice-skating, day and night, in the heart of the city, Union Square. 4. Union Street Fantasy of Lights

Union Street Fantasy of Lights takes place Saturday, December 7th from 3pm to 7pm. This event features costumed holiday characters (including Santa), open houses, and activities for the holiday season along Union Street. Visit http://www.unionstreetsf.com for more information.

5. The SantaCon

On December 14th, the city will explode with Santas. Literally. People dressed as Santa take over the city and parade publicly around the streets and in bars, while also giving out gifts and spreading holiday cheer. You can register for this event here.
