On Feb. 22, the 87th Academy Awards will air on ABC, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. While the Oscars does have its memorable moments, it is also a 3-hour long affair (even longer if you’re watching the red carpet) with tons of commercials and strange presenter choices, as is any award show.
To get through the night (and actually enjoy yourself), help the time pass with a drinking game for you and your cats friends.
Take a sip of wine (because the Oscars are classy and so are you) when:
1. Benedict Cumberbatch nails the perfect photobomb, once again.
2. You can’t understand what the foreign film winners are saying.
3. Neil Patrick Harris breaks into song and dance.
4. Someone makes a dumb joke about the host.
5. Someone pulls an Emma Thompson and carries their shoes and a glass of wine onto the stage because they were wrongfully snubbed.
6. The camera lingers on a woman’s bottom (surefire way to get drunk).
7. Lady Gaga shows up in an outfit made out of material that is not intended for clothing, but then no one cares because she is a talented, flawless beast.
8. You spot a selfie stick. Doesn’t matter where. Could be onscreen, could be off. If it’s near you, snatch that garbage away, throw it out the window, and finish your glass.
9. You don’t recognize a person in the “In Memoriam” tribute.
10. You do recognize a person in the “In Memoriam” tribute.
11. Every time Jennifer Lawrence comes onscreen and someone says, “She’s gonna trip! She’s gonna trip!,” but she doesn’t.
EXTRA: If you predict a winner in any category, down a whole glass. It’s gonna be a fun night.
