Mark Your Calendars for November 15: Miles’ Wish To Be Batkid

by on Nov, 13 2013

We all had some pretty lofty childhood dreams and fantasies. Whether it was the imaginary friend we played with every day after school, our dream to be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world, or a fantasy of becoming part of the Power Rangers team, it was rare that these dreams became realities.

However, for 5-year-old Miles, his dream of becoming a superhero is about to come true for a day. Miles, according to the Make a Wish Foundation, is a “5-year-old fighting a very adult battle.” Miles has leukemia, but this doesn’t stop him from wanting to be a batkid. To ensure his dream can become a reality, the Make a Wish Foundation has organized an intricate event in the city of San Francisco for this Friday, November 15.

Miles will have to fight crime and conquer tasks throughout the city of San Francisco, and the Foundation is hoping to have the support of the city to make this possible for the aspiring caped crusader.

If you’re going to skip that 11 AM class Friday anyways, why not head to the city and cheer on Miles the Batkid at one of the various locations listed on the Make a Wish website? Furthermore, you can RSVP to be a part of the massive celebration that will take place at City Hall at 2pm as San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee congratulates Miles on a successful day of fighting villains and crime and rewards him with a key to the city. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to brighten this boy’s fantasy turned reality!
