Get Real: Seven Ways to Avoid Finals Stress

I had a moment today where I thought I couldn’t make it to the end of this semester. I’ll never get these papers done, my own poetry portfolio will literally eat my right hand, and Milton will definitely be the death of me. But then I stopped and realized that this  stress does nothing.

So here are just a few suggestions to help my fellow students who are on the brink of finals insanity.

1. Make a To-Do List.

Before you spiral down into a pit of despair, take a deep breath and really think about the responsibilities you have and the steps you need to take in order to accomplish them. A 20-page research paper (double spaced) may sound daunting, but perhaps 2 pages a day is a manageable and consistent schedule in order to get it done in a week’s time.

2. Dance it out.

As Liz Lemon proposes to her writing staff on 30 Rock, “Two minute dance break?” Bust a move to Chamillionaire in between dense study sessions. Get up to jive every 1

WOw, I was actually super-stressed about the studying I have to do in the coming week, but I feel so much better about approaching my studying now that I’ve read your article! (it was slightly witty and very useful)
……..and ofcourse you are an AMAZING writer :)
