So, you most likely know him as Harold Lee, the hard-working stoner in the outrageous Harold & Kumar films.

But, John Cho is not an investment banker residing in New Jersey, but rather a Cal Bear!

John Cho was born in South Korea and raised in the Glendale area of Los Angeles. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in English. Shortly after graduating, he made his way back to Los Angeles, where he worked as a high school English teacher and attempted to get a jump start on his acting career. Cho clearly succeeded in forming an acting career. He is now famous for his performance in the three extremely successful Harold & Kumar installments. He has also starred in a few of the American Pie movies and has had smaller roles in various other films.

Here’s a fun fact about Cho: he was the lead singer of a Los Angeles band made up of former UC Berkeley and USC students, know as Viva La Union. One of their songs, “Chinese Baby”, made it onto the Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay soundtrack. Not going to lie, I am a little tempted to listen to their other songs now…

So, what is John Cho doing now? He’s still acting! Just look out for him in Identity Thief and Star Trek Into Darkness next year!
