Telegraph Treasures: Go to Crepes-a-Go-Go
Need somewhere where you can eat a cheap, easy, quick and delicious meal (or snack), a treat that is either sweet or savory? If you haven’t already, stop by Crepes-a-Go-Go, located between Bancroft Way and Durant Avenue.
As quoted from their website, Crepes-a-Go-Go has no other creperies or eateries “…like it. Sweet and savory crepes filled with the freshest fruits, vegetables and meats, prepared to order and served fresh off our unique griddles. Add a piping hot espresso or freshly made coffee from our full espresso bar and enjoy.” And guess how long they’re open from? On Monday through Thursdays, they’re open from 10 AM to 10 PM; on Fridays through Saturdays, they’re open from 10 AM to 11 PM, and on Sunday, they’re open from 10 AM to 9 PM. Not bad! Late night snack, anyone?
I’ve heard of them so much, and I was super hungry, just walking around Berkeley all the time to get from place to place and from class to class. I have to say, I was eager to try their crepes, and they did not disappoint. I ordered a sweet crepe, one containing nutella with fresh strawberries. I was thinking of getting a savory one, but I had sweet cravings. My friend did get a savory crepe with avocado and cheese, which actually sounded and looked delicious. After one orders a crepe, one can watch the chefs create it. The storefront consists of a clear window through which one can see stacks of jars of nutella and crepes being made. I was impressed. These crepes cook on the griddles so quickly!

A crepe sizzling on the griddle while the nutellas are stacked on one another. I wonder what the top nutella jar thinks of the view.
Within approximately 5 minutes, I had my fresh, warm, neatly paper-wrapped crepe in my hands. How quickly can your favorite restaurant get your food to you? It was chilly outside, and it was already evening, so the heat emanating from my little treat was a welcome heating sensation for my hands. It tasted really good! Chocolate and strawberries, delicious!
As I was digging into my crepe, I thought I would bite my crepe to try to form it into something of a heart shape. Show a bit of love to you Caliber readers out there.
