MAHARASHTRA, INDIA: Farmers tending their fields on the 21st October 2008.
A large number of farmers have commited suicide over the past few years as direct results of failing crops from GM seeds, leading to massive financial loss for many farmers. Social stigma and debts are common factors of suicide.
