Food Trucks Become Accessible for the Students

What: Off The Grid: Southside Berkeley on Telegraph

Where: Corner of Telegraph and Haste

When: Thursdays, 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

The popular food trucks found in North Berkeley on Shattuck have finally made their way to Telegraph. Launched just a couple of months ago, “Off The Grid: Southside Berkeley on Telegraph” has already proven to be a huge hit among UC Berkeley students.

I found myself at this location just a few weeks ago, and to my surprise every single truck in the lot had a decently long line. The aroma of different foods kept me waiting in a couple of them to try a multitude of delicious mini meals. And not only was the food great, but so was the atmosphere. The sound of excited students, Berkeley residents, and children laughing and chatting over food completed the entire experience for me.

This Off The Grid location usually has a rotating selection of eight to ten food trucks with varying types of food – ranging from Mexican tacos to pulled pork sandwiches to even crème brûlée! With so many options, there is bound to be something for everyone.

So, if you are sick of dining hall food, bored of your usual restaurants, or just wanting to try something new and unusual, I highly suggest trying out these food trucks!
